We are pursuing a claim for asbestos compensation for a client who tragically lost his mother to asbestos related mesothelioma during 2012.

In order to succeed in the asbestos claim we need to show that our client’s late mother was exposed to harmful amounts of asbestos.

We have already taken a detailed witness from our client referring to how his father suffered exposure to asbestos dust during the course of his employment with Tate & Lyle PLC, Silvertown between 1961 and 1990 approximately.

The evidence obtained so far in support of the mesothelioma claim shows that our client’s father returned home covered in asbestos dust and his late mother would wash his father’s contaminated work clothes. This appears to be the only known source of exposure to asbestos affecting his mother throughout the course of her life.

We are looking for ex-employees of Tate & Lyle who can recall the working conditions within the boiler house at their Silvertown site.

It is understood that from the 1980s onwards, asbestos ceased being used by employees as a form of lagging material at the site and therefore, in particular, we are looking to speak to former workers at the company who can remember what the working conditions were like between 1961 and the 1980s to obtain evidence to further support the mesothelioma claim.

If you require assistance in pursuing a mesothelioma claim or believe you have a valid claim for asbestos compensation, arising out of any other diagnosis, please contact us today on our freephone number 0800 038 6767.
