Diagnosis
Confirming a diagnosis of asbestosis can be a complicated matter. Fibrosis, or scarring of the lungs, is a condition which can be caused by things other than asbestos.
How Can You Prove That Fibrosis Is Asbestos Related?
In order to prove that the fibrosis is asbestos-related, we need to prove a very heavy history of exposure to asbestos, such as that seen with asbestos laggers or those who worked in asbestos factories.
There are some clinical signs which may assist in linking the fibrosis to asbestos exposure, such as a sub-pleural predominance, however much is based on the level of asbestos exposure.
