Every year we take part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning to raise funds for this great charity. Last year, thanks to the pandemic, we had to take our event online and met via Zoom, as you can imagine, this was nowhere near as good as our usual event as there is no substitute for sitting in the office with a home baked cake or biscuit!
This year, with our teams returning to the office on a hybrid basis, working some days from home and some in the office, we wanted to ensure everyone had the chance to take part in our Coffee Morning and maximise the funds we could raise for Macmillan. So we decided to have a Coffee Morning Week!
We had bakers lined up to provide fresh treats each day and they didn’t let us down. Our table was practically sagging from the plethora of cakes and biscuits, there was something for everyone from vegan millionaire bites to Nutella cupcakes.
Our strategy paid off as we raised the most we ever have from a Coffee Morning. The nifty Macmillan QR code to pay by card helped as well, meaning everyone could donate, not just those with spare change.
At the end of the week we counted all the cash and checked our QR code balance and we had raised a fantastic £193.27.
A huge thank you to all our bakers and buyers who made the week such a success.
