Here at Asbestos Justice, we try to take part in Action Mesothelioma Day every year on the first Friday in July, whether it be organising a fundraising event, attending one of the local organised events or raising awareness of mesothelioma. This year, we are getting involved in Action Meso’s Go Blue for Meso campaign.
We first heard of the campaign earlier this month thanks to meso warrior, Mavis Nye, who tweeted about the campaign. On 1st July 2022, Action Mesothelioma Day, landmarks across the UK will be lit up in blue to mark the day and raise awareness of the asbestos cancer, mesothelioma, and to highlight the dangers of asbestos.
Chester landmarks set to be blue
We have already contacted the relevant powers that be where we are based in Chester and they have kindly agreed to light up the Eastgate Clock, Chester Town Hall and Newgate Arch Bridge blue on the 1st of July.
We are excited and proud to have helped make this happen and hope that it will help raise awareness of this terrible disease and work towards the eradication of it. Eastgate Clock is the second most photographed clock in the country, after Big Ben and so we hope it will really help the campaign.
How can you get involved?
If you want to get your local landmarks lit up, it’s easy. You can visit the Go Blue for Meso page where you can find the answers to all the questions you may have. They have a very helpful template letter you can send to your local authority or the owner of any landmarks you think might be good to include.
Go Blue for Meso are also putting together a map of the country to show where you can find landmarks and buildings that are taking part so keep an eye on their website for that.
If you don’t have a local landmark or can’t get it lit up, you can still take part by lighting up your home or office.
Friday, 1st July 2022
We are looking forward to Friday, 1st July and will be visiting all three of Chester’s lit landmarks where we will remember all those who have sadly lost their fight to mesothelioma and those still in the midst of their battle.
We have been dealing with asbestos disease compensation claims for over 15 years now and have lost too many clients over the years to mesothelioma and other asbestos diseases. They all have a special place in our hearts, and we often think about them and their families. Action Mesothelioma Day is a day when they are foremost in our thoughts, and we can only hope that the continued work of Action Meso and all the mesothelioma warriors and campaigners will make a difference for the future.
If you require assistance in pursuing an asbestos compensation claim for mesothelioma or any other asbestos disease then please contact us today on our freephone number 0800 038 6767. Alternatively, head over to the ‘Contact Us’ page, complete the form and we will be in touch.
