Following the success of our charity gig in February this year, we decided to put another one on to try and raise more much-needed funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
We regularly speak to clients who are suffering with mesothelioma or asbestos-related lung cancer who have received assistance and support from Macmillan. The charity provides advice, physical, financial and emotional support to people suffering with all kinds of cancer and their families.
Despite the horrible, wet, windy weather, the venue was packed.
The band, Eskimo Spies, headed by our Specialist Industrial Disease Solicitor, James Cameron, put on a fantastic show. Singing classics from Queen, The Killers, Kings of Leon, U2 and more, the dance floor was full all night.
There was a raffle in between sets with fantastic prizes that had all been donated by people from the office, a huge thank you to everyone who gave a prize and all those who bought tickets.
The total amount raised from ticket and raffle sales was £1,026.00. This will go to Macmillan Cancer Support to help them continue their amazing work.
James Cameron was very happy with how the event went; “It was great to see the firm come together to raise funds for such a worthy cause. I see day-to-day in my work, the valuable service Macmillan provide to my clients and their families and this is just a small token of our appreciation for the work they do.”
