We have been instructed by the family of a lady who sadly passed away due to mesothelioma. She was exposed to asbestos from her husband’s work clothing and therefore this is a so called, “secondary exposure” mesothelioma claim.
Before she passed away we were able to obtain a witness statement which confirmed that during the course of her husband’s time in demolition during the 1990’s and early years of this Century, she suffered exposure to asbestos when washing his asbestos contaminated work clothes.
The evidence we have obtained indicates that her husband was exposed to asbestos on various demolition contracts which were overseen by main contractors, including DSM Demolition Limited, Birmingham.
In order to establish liability a mesothelioma claim we need to show that she was exposed to more than minimal asbestos exposure after 1965. This is a key date in this type of mesothelioma claim as by this time, Defendants should have been alert to the dangers of low level exposure to asbestos and should have taken relevant precautions.
Although the lady has now passed away due to mesothelioma, we are hoping to find witnesses who may have worked for DSM and recall asbestos being present on various sites and would be able to provide witness evidence to assist in the recovery of mesothelioma compensation for our late client’s family.
