Asbestos Justice are looking for witnesses to assist in providing witness evidence in an asbestos claim involving the recovery of compensation for asbestosis and pleural thickening.

In order to establish liability in this claim, we must show that our client was exposed to higher levels of asbestos when compared to a mesothelioma claim.

Our client worked for a number of companies between approximately 1963 and 1987 and came to be exposed to asbestos whilst carrying out his duties as a labourer and rigger/steel erector. We are looking for potential witnesses who may be able to assist in providing evidence of asbestos exposure.

Our client worked for Imperial Chemical Industries between approximately 1963 and 1987 at Rocksavage, Runcorn as well as at Western Point, near Runcorn. During this time he worked for the following companies, as a contractor at the ICI plants:

  • R B Charlton / R Blackett & Co Limited
  • Capper Pipe Service Co Limited
  • The Bristol Piping Co (Erection) Limited
  • Stewarts & Lloyds Limited
  • Toolex Engineering Fac Limited
  • Clarke Chapman – John Thompson Limited
  • William Press & Son

As a labourer and rigger/steel erector our client was exposed to asbestos when removing and fitting new pipework. He worked in close proximity to laggers who would chip asbestos insulation off old pipework before it was removed. Once the pipework had been replaced laggers used fabricated lagging which was cut to size and joined with powdered asbestos mixed with water. The mixing of powdered asbestos was done whilst our client was present and so contributed to his heavy asbestos exposure which has caused the asbestos condition he suffered with.

Sadly, our client suffered with a number of health problems and has passed away. We are hoping to find witnesses who can confirm the asbestos exposure our client encountered whilst working at the ICI plants, in order to assist with the asbestosis and pleural thickening claim.

If you can assist in providing evidence for this asbestos claim, please contact us today on our Freephone number 0800 038 6767. Alternatively, head over to the ‘Contact Us’ page, complete the form and we will be in touch. Thank you.
