Civilian asbestos exposure in the MOD

We acted for Mr W who was diagnosed with lung cancer after being exposed to asbestos whilst working for the Ministry of Defence in a civilian capacity. Claims for asbestos-related lung cancerare complex cases.  There is a need to prove that the sufferer has been exposed to substantial quantities of asbestos.  This is due to the fact that there can be other causes of lung cancer including smoking.  If there is a history of exposure to substantial quantities of asbestos, this can favour a diagnosis of asbestos-related lung cancer.

We often obtain engineering evidence in further support of these claims.  In this case, the Defendant made an early offer to settle the claim and we managed to negotiate a settlement for the family.
