A construction worker’s story – Mr J

We were instructed by a widow following the sad death of her husband who passed away from the affects of asbestos-related mesothelioma.

Mr J was frequently exposed to asbestos when working at the Isle of Grain for George Wimpey between 1956 and 1978. He was employed by the company as a welder and often worked nearby laggers who were removing asbestos from pipework and boilers during maintenance work.

Full details of Mr J’s employment and exposure to asbestos were obtained from a witness who also worked for George Wimpey at the same time as him.  This evidence assisted us in making the necessary allegations against the Defendant which secured a successful outcome within 5 months of us being instructed.  Whilst it was no consolation to Mrs J, the Defendant was held to account and compensation was secured for her following the sad loss of her husband.
